This is a follow up the the previous post about suspcious activity.
It is the point of view of the bank customer's son, who was called by the victim shortly after gang had made contact. Suspecting that something was wrong and being a Monzo customer he used the app to make contact (full transcript below).
The son was out of the country and attempted to reach out to the bank to discuss his concerns regarding his parent's vulnerability. He was told that the bank would require a Lasting Power of Attorney. He supplied this on the 18th but this was not acknowledged by the bank until 23rd.
The bank did however manage to raise a complaint on behalf the son:
